Governing Board
Our governing board is made up of five community members who are elected to serve a 4-year term. Each must meet specific criteria in order to run for a seat on the board. Elections are held in even-numbered years. From time to time, a vacancy occurs apart from the election cycle. In this case, qualified candidates are interviewed by the other members of the governing board, and they choose from those who expressed interest in serving on the board. This candidate will serve for only the remainder of the vacated term and must run for office during the next election cycle, if he/she chooses to continue to serve in this capacity.
Cascade Union Elementary School District holds its regular board meetings monthly, on the second Wednesday of the month, at 6:00 p.m., in the Board Room at Anderson Middle School. Park and enter off Mill Street. Meetings typically last for an hour. The schedule for the following calendar year’s meetings is determined each December at the Annual Organizational Meeting of the Governing Board. Agendas for all board meetings are available online and are posted at the District Office.
