DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY
Cascade's Technology Services department implements, operates, and manages all technology hardware and software systems within the school district while providing direct support to students and educators in the use of these resources. Our staff are responsible for ensuring the functionality and availability of computing devices to meet the district's strategic goals, objectives, and mission. We support current and legacy educational systems, while developing methods for the effective deployment of emerging technologies.
Technology Services has six primary integrated operating elements:
- Network operations center
- Administrative services
- Telecommunications
- Curriculum integration
- Employee workflow
- End-user support
These elements represent our day-to-day responsibilities, which include:
- Hardware and software implementation, support, and management
- Administrative policy oversight
- Network infrastructure management
- Digital communications, including web, email, and emergency notification systems
- Management of internally and externally hosted WAN services
- Campus physical security systems
- School site and district-level technology support for staff and students
- Database management
- Data preparation for reporting to the State of California
- IP telephony
- Professional development
- Direct support for technology-oriented instructional techniques and curricula
- Classroom and performing arts audio/visual support
In addition to the above, the department delivers reliable and fluid interaction between all contemporary technologies to help provide a complete and enriching learning environment for Cascade students. This includes over 300 Windows workstations, 800 Chromebooks, 400 iPads, 20 servers (Unix/Windows/Mac), and network accounts for every staff member and student, from kindergarten to eighth grade.
Low Voltage Wiring and Audio/Visual System for Meadow Lane Elementary New Gymnasium (Bid No. CUESD-CUPCCAA-2023-09-29)
The construction project of the new gymnasium and administrative offices at Meadow Lane Elementary School (2770 Balls Ferry Rd, Anderson, CA 96007) is in its final stages. Low voltage wiring installation—copper and fiber optic ethernet, plus related equipment—is required throughout the building to provide network connectivity, notification systems, wireless access, and surveillance systems to all offices, workspaces, and/or serviceable areas. In addition, a contemporary and high-grade audio/visual (A/V) system installation is required in the main room (gymnasium) for assemblies, presentations, and school and community events.
