Frequently Asked Question
Your work files can be accessed on your District-assigned laptop while off-campus.
STEP 01) Ensure that you are connected to your home wi-fi, mobile hotspot or other network so that you can access the Internet.
STEP 02) Find the Share Folders Remote Access app on your Desktop. It will look like one of the two images below. Double click the icon to launch the app.
STEP 03) You will see a new window open up with a lot of information. All that's happening here is that a single command is being run to connect you to the CUESD network. You can ignore most of this, as the only thing it needs from you is to tell it "yes" on the bottom line. Type "yes" on your keyboard and then press the Enter key to confirm the connection. This is only necessary the first time you connect.
NOTE: You may be asked to enter your network credentials to validate your level of access, as shown in the image below.
If this window appears, enter your username and password, and make sure to check the "Remember my credentials" box. It is important to check this box, otherwise the server may not be able to grant you access to your files.
STEP 04) You are now connected to the CUESD network and can access your Photos, Documents, Network Drives and other folders. The window below will stay open and acts as your "bridge" to the CUESD network. Leave this window open (you can minimize this window so that it is out of the way) until you are ready to disconnect from the CUESD network. When you are done, simply click the X in the top right corner of this window to close and disconnect.
Please contact the Technology Department if there are any issues with accessing your files from off-campus.
